Copyright & DMCA Policy

Rigaway respects intellectual property and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

Effective date: October 18, 2026. This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It covers content we host — websites on rigaway.app and custom domains, and files on cloud desktops. On Self-Hosted, code and files stay on the user's own computer and are not hosted by us.

Designated agent

Send copyright notices to our designated agent:

Copyright Agent
Rigaway, Inc.
Email: dmca@rigaway.com

Reporting infringement

If you believe content hosted on Rigaway infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

We respond to valid notices expeditiously — typically by removing or disabling access to the material (a single file or the whole website) and notifying the account holder. We may share a copy of your notice, including your contact details, with the account holder so they can respond. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Before sending a notice, consider whether the use may be fair use.

The report form is fine for flagging a problem quickly, but a takedown under the DMCA requires a notice with the elements above. Trademark and other non-copyright complaints can go to legal@rigaway.com.

Counter-notification

If your content was removed and you believe that was the result of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent that includes:

We'll forward a valid counter-notice to the person who submitted the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We keep a record of each takedown against the account that owns the website. An account that receives three valid notices within 12 months is terminated. Notices that are withdrawn, or resolved by a counter-notice that isn't followed by a lawsuit, don't count.

Send all copyright notices and counter-notices to dmca@rigaway.com.
