Rigaway is an app for your phone that connects to a computer you build on — your own, or a cloud desktop we run for you. From your phone you can guide your AI coding assistant, run your app, see it live, and ship it — all over a private, encrypted connection.

No. You can use your own Mac, Windows, or Linux computer, or your own Linux server (Self-Hosted), or a cloud desktop: a dev machine in the cloud (a VPS) that we set up and run for you, with your tools and AI agents already installed. Cloud desktops are rolling out by waitlist — see pricing.

On your own computer: the phone app, a quick install on your computer, and an account. Sign in with the same email on both and they connect automatically. On a cloud desktop, you only need the phone app. The apps open to beta testers soon — join the beta on the download page.

No. Rigaway connects your phone to your computer whether you're in the next room or on the other side of the world — same Wi-Fi or not.

Not at all. There's nothing technical to configure — no router settings, no VPN. With your own computer: install the computer app, sign in on your phone, and you're connected. With a cloud desktop, just sign in on your phone.

When you connect to your own computer, no — your code, your screen, and everything you do stay between your phone and that machine, and our servers never receive or store it. Your AI assistant does see the code you ask it to work on, under your AI provider's own terms. (On a cloud-desktop plan your code runs on a machine we host for you, so it lives on our infrastructure; the connection to it is still encrypted end to end.)

Everything is encrypted end-to-end, and connections are locked to your specific devices — so no one in between, not even Rigaway, can look inside your session.

Rigaway always finds a way to connect. If your phone can't reach your computer directly, the connection passes through our servers — still fully encrypted, so it's never readable by anyone along the way, including us.

The phone app works on iPhone and Android. The computer app runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and there's a headless version for Linux servers — or skip it and use a cloud desktop (waitlist).

Yes. Install Rigaway headless on any Linux machine — a home server, a VPS, a Raspberry Pi — and your phone connects to it like any other computer, from anywhere. It's one installer plus a sign-in with your account's email, and it runs as a background service. It needs Node.js 22+ and git, and it's covered by the same Self-Hosted plan. See how to install it.

Rigaway works with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and GitHub Copilot, using your own subscriptions — sign in from your phone. It also runs local models on your own computer. You decide which to use.

Yes. React Native apps run live right on your phone on every plan, and websites your project serves open right on your phone. On your own computer you can also launch a phone simulator and control it from your phone, or install a build onto a real device — Android wirelessly, iPhone with a cable. iOS simulators and builds need a Mac.

Yes — use Git exactly as you normally would. You can also send a project's history straight between your own computers.
